Explore new features for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, including AI and user interface enhancements.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales 2024 release wave 2 covers the new functionality that will be rolling out from October to March 2025. In this article, we’ll highlight key, upcoming features designed to enhance the administrator and user experience.

This release focuses heavily on the Dynamics administration experience regarding the user interface, Copilot and other artificial intelligence (AI) features, and sales pipeline insights.

What’s Available Now

For Admins

Get Updates Faster With Monthly Channel

Your organization may currently depend on Microsoft to release updates, limiting the timeliness of innovation and delaying access to new features. This new feature enables the Sales Hub app for monthly release channel, allowing for updates monthly versus semiannually. This helps your Dynamics 365 environment receive updates promptly, keeping you up to date with new features to continuously improve your processes.

How it works: The out-of-the-box Sales Hub app is enabled to use the monthly channel rather than the semiannual channel. This will release features monthly by default, with the option to update the configuration to Auto, Monthly, and Semiannually. The current default is Auto; with this update, the default will change to Monthly. To enable the monthly channel for other model-driven apps, you’ll need to configure it manually in Power Apps. For Sales Professionals

Elevate Sales Pitches With Copilot Email Assistance

Sellers may struggle with communicating via email—tone, structure, information to include, etc. These elements can be critical when drafting an effective email. Flawed email tactics could potentially hinder sales, limit customer engagement, and damage the seller’s reputation. Templates can be helpful, but their standardization does not contribute to the personalization needed when working with clients.

Copilot email assistance can help address these matters by creating personalized emails specific to the client or opportunity being discussed. Copilot can assist in drafting quality emails to help improve communications, sales, customer engagement, and client interactions. Features in this enhancement allow sellers to specify the appropriate tone and length of the email, as well as offer content suggestions via prompts and actions.

AI-Generated Account Summaries

Sales professionals are often searching for ways to more efficiently manage client relationships. Staying current with the many Accounts and Deals they’re working on can be challenging. Sometimes, compiling notes and details into a summary can be time-consuming and still not provide the level of insight needed.

The new Account summary feature leverages AI and a detailed approach to bring relevant account details to the surface. This feature can help sellers efficiently prepare for client meetings, prioritize key areas, and engage with clients intentionally.

For Admins:

  • Enable Copilot Account Summary for Dynamics 365 applications.
  • Configure the entities and fields to use to create the summary.

For Users:

  • Gain a 360-degree view of your accounts based on relevant, associated account data.
  • View a summary of associated Opportunities, Leads, and Cases (up to 10 records) for an account.
  • View recent changes based on the audit history of this table (auditing must be enabled).

For Sales Professionals

AI Action Suggestions

The release schedule for this new feature: public preview in December 2024 and general availability in April 2025.

Sales professionals often spend significant time monitoring how deals are going. Several business applications may be in use, and multiple conversations among team members may be required to help keep a deal moving forward. Action suggestions generated by Copilot in Dynamics 365 Sales can assist with planning and organizing the seller’s day to help improve productivity and the sales cycle.

Feature Highlights

  • Help improve productivity by identifying stagnant deals that may require additional follow-up.
  • Suggest actions to get deals back on target.

Deal Closure Acceleration With AI

The release schedule for this new feature: public preview in February 2025 and general availability in April 2025.

During the process of working to close a deal, sellers may likely interact with multiple stakeholders in various email threads. This can lead to communication challenges, delayed follow-up, and poor time management in trying to understand what’s going on with the deal.

Copilot can assist sellers with these challenges by providing insights from recent emails and directly linking them to the timeline on the appropriate Opportunity record.

  • Review conversation details from email interactions directly on the Opportunity record in Dynamics 365.
  • Edit details provided by Copilot in the timeline to capture your insights.

Copilot Overview Page

The release schedule for this new feature: public preview in March 2025 and general availability in July 2025.

Sales professionals handling multiple leads and opportunities may find it challenging at times to juggle customer demands while keeping up with required tasks. In addition, there may not be a centralized place to access required information. The new Copilot Overview Page can help sellers focus on the important records without having to navigate through Dynamics 365 and other business applications. The Copilot Overview Page enables sellers to start the day with a fresh look at prioritized tasks and activities.
