On August 2, 2024, the SEC and eight federal agencies jointly issued a proposal establishing technical standards for future data submissions fulfilling a milestone requirement of the 2022 Financial Data Transparency Act (FDTA). The FDTA will significantly change the way municipal bond issuers and obligors report required disclosure information on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB)’s Electronic Municipal Market Access (EMMA) website.
