DALLAS – David Harwood has joined Forvis Mazars as an audit partner in the Dallas market, focusing on serving clients in the healthcare and higher education industries.
Harwood has extensive experience working with public and private companies across several industries as a lead engagement partner. Prior to joining Forvis Mazars, he spent two decades working for a large international firm, serving clients in highly regulated sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, higher education, and state and local governments. His healthcare sector clients have included entities such as full-service integrated hospital systems, specialty centers, long-term acute care entities, physician networks, freestanding ERs, and air medical providers. He has also served as lead engagement partner for several private equity portfolio company clients.
Beyond a deep focus on audit quality and client service, Harwood has long been an advocate for collaborative culture in the workplace and strives to be a champion for his teams. He said Forvis Mazars’ momentum and culture attracted him to the opportunity.
“I have spent 23 years serving healthcare and university audit clients. Forvis Mazars has become a market leader in these industries, and I am extremely excited to be joining the sizable team they’ve built,” Harwood said. “From the moment I first met with Forvis Mazars, I have been impressed with their people and leadership. They are dedicated at the local, regional, and national levels to continue to grow and serve these important industries.”
“David’s dedication to the success of his clients and his colleagues makes him a great fit for our team,” said Todd Lisle, managing partner of the Forvis Mazars office in Dallas. “His deep roots in the region and breadth of industry knowledge will be tremendous assets for our clients.”
Harwood is a member of the AICPA, Texas Society of CPAs, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. His community volunteer service includes working with the American Heart Association, the North Texas Food Bank, and the Crystal Charity Ball.
