Steve is a member of the Forensics & Valuation service line and leads the national real estate valuation and advisory division. He has more than 30 years of experience providing valuation and valuation review; market analysis; due diligence and transactional support; purchase price allocation and impairment analyses; development, highest and best use, and feasibility studies; lease analysis and abstraction; structured lease and sale-leaseback transactions; policy and procedures assessments; cost segregation and construction analysis; estate planning; insurance and business interruption; litigation support and dispute resolution; and general business strategy and consultation.
He serves a variety of client types including private equity/funds, real estate investment trusts, lenders and institutional investors, foreign investors, developers, law firms, public sector, and multinational companies. He has worked across all industries and has deep experience analyzing asset classes in multiple domestic and international geographies and throughout the capital stack, including:
Before joining Forvis Mazars, Steve was a managing director at an international accounting firm where he provided similar services, including leading the real estate-related audit support function. He was also involved in the firm’s proptech initiative, as well as PCAOB and peer reviews for major audit clients.
He holds the MAI and AI-GRS designations from the Appraisal Institute, the FRICS designation from Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and is a state certified general appraiser. He has made numerous presentations and has moderated panels on a variety of real estate topics for organizations such as PERE, Deloitte, and Appraisal Institute, and has instructed appraisal and Argus courses.
Steve is a graduate of Binghamton University School of Management, New York, with a B.S. degree in management.
