With more than 32 years of experience in public accounting, Rob serves as the Chief Practice & Innovation Officer at Forvis Mazars US. In this role, he provides executive leadership, sponsorship, coordination, and guidance to the Forvis Mazars US Growth Investment Fund, EDGE – The Innovation Lab of Forvis Mazars, and our Marketing & Business Development Department, along with its go-to-market strategies. He also serves on the Forvis Mazars US Governing Board and Forvis Mazars Global Board.
Previously, he held positions as regional managing partner, national tax director, and managing partner at Forvis Mazars. As a former tax partner, he specialized in tax planning for closely held and multinational corporations, including analyzing tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions and participating in due diligence teams. His experience extends to international tax planning, including structuring support and foreign tax credit planning. Rob also led the central Indiana employee stock ownership plan practice, which offers financial feasibility analyses, structure recommendations, and transaction implementation assistance.
Rob has been an executive sponsor for the firmwide Employee Value Proposition Council and led the senior manager training program for several years. He spearheaded the development of the individual income tax return compliance center in the Indianapolis office and has served as an internal discussion leader on technical tax issues.
His leadership extends beyond Forvis Mazars. He served as the board chairman for the 500 Festival in 2020 and 2021 and has been a board member of the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and the Indy Public Safety Foundation. He was a founding board member of the Academy of Finance at Hamilton Southeastern High School and an advisory board member of the Marian University Academy for Teaching and Learning Leadership.
Affiliated with the American Institute of CPAs, Indiana CPA Society, and United Way Tocqueville Society, Rob has also contributed as a member of the United Way Development Committee, treasurer of Phi Gamma Delta House Corporation, and treasury and budgeting chair for the RCA Tennis Championships. Furthermore, he has served on the boards of Techpoint and the Techpoint PAC. The Indianapolis Business Journal recognized him in its “Who’s Who in Banking and Financial Services” list.
He is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, with a B.S. degree in accounting.
