The deadline to report metrics per the new Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) regulations has been extended again, to January 15, 2025. The deadline for reporting was previously set to October 1, 2024 (after an original deadline of July 1, 2024). The deadline extension follows many listening sessions with higher education leaders who have expressed challenges around meeting the reporting requirements, given recent changes in the FAFSA process through academic year 2025-2026. The Department of Education (DOE) has also extended the deadline for reviewing your institution’s Completers List to January 15, 2025, which will have an impact on how graduate earnings are measured and reported.

Institutions are encouraged to explore the NSLDS FVT/GE User Guide, including instructions on reviewing the Completers List (Volume 3) for more information. Volume 4, which will describe the DOE’s process for calculating debt-to-earnings and earnings premium metrics, and will be public and searchable, is set to be released in the coming months.
