CHICAGO – Forvis Mazars has bolstered its Tax Specialty practice with the addition of Mark Quiroz, who joins the firm as a managing director focusing on tax transformation.
Based in Chicago, Quiroz has nearly 30 years of public accounting, management consulting, and income tax compliance experience. In his role with Forvis Mazars, Quiroz will focus primarily on tax transformation efforts, including assisting clients with tax-related aspects of ERP implementation and operational tax transfer pricing.
Quiroz has spent much of his career at several large international accounting firms and said the opportunity to interact more closely with clients is what appealed to him about joining Forvis Mazars.
“Face time with clients and ownership of those relationships are what truly drives my work,” Quiroz said. “At Forvis Mazars, I’m able to balance direct, meaningful client work and collaborating with colleagues who are highly experienced in their respective areas, especially on the consulting side. This holistic approach to problem-solving is very appealing to me at this point in my career.”
Although he has worked with clients in a variety of industries and will continue to do so at Forvis Mazars, Quiroz has years of experience working with large clients in the financial services and insurance industries. He has been the engagement leader for global tax and finance automation projects for several Fortune 100 financial services institutions and major U.S. regional banks. His ERP experience is also extensive, having successfully led tax transformation teams responsible for assisting tax clients for at least 15 end-to-end ERP implementations for SAP, Oracle, and PeopleSoft. He recently led the tax transformation team for a global SAP S/4 implementation during a multiyear rollout across more than 30 countries.
Quiroz is a licensed CPA and holds Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Six Sigma Green Belt certifications. He earned a bachelor's degree in accountancy from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
